Best Morocco eSIM plan by trip length
The right plan depends on two things: how many days you are away, and how you use your phone. Here is a pick for every trip length, what each plan costs per day, and when unlimited is worth paying for.
The short answer
Pick by days first, then by how you use your phone. For a long weekend, 3 GB (€13.50 (about £11.50)) is enough for most people. For a week, 5 GB (€18.00 (about £15.30)). For two weeks, 10 GB (€30.00 (about £25.50)). For a month, 20 GB (€38.50 (about £32.70)). Heavy video and hotspot users should size up or look at unlimited.
How much data you will probably use
These are our rules of thumb, not measurements. Your phone's mobile data usage screen is the best guide to your own habits.
- Light, about 0.25 GB a day: maps, messages and the odd email.
- Typical, about 0.6 GB a day: the above plus social media, photos and some music.
- Heavy, about 1.5 GB a day: video calls, streaming, uploading video, or sharing your connection with other devices.

Each cell is the smallest plan that covers the usage level without a buffer. Our data planner adds a 15% buffer, so it may suggest the next size up.

Within a trip length, bigger plans cost less per gigabyte. On a 7-day trip that is €4.83 a GB for 3 GB, €3.60 for 5 GB and €2.90 for 10 GB. A bigger plan only saves money if you would otherwise run out.
When unlimited makes sense
- Our list has unlimited plans for 3, 5, 7 and 10 days: 3 days €16.00, 5 days €26.00, 7 days €31.50 and 10 days €40.50.
- It suits heavy use: streaming, video calls, and sharing data with a family. If you do not want to count gigabytes at all, it removes the worry.
- It costs more per day than a plan you will not run out of. Compare against the next fixed plan before you decide.
- Check the fair-use terms and any hotspot rules before you buy.
Three worked examples
A long weekend in Marrakech
Three days of maps, messages and photos. A 3 GB plan (€13.50 (about £11.50)) covers it. If you will only use messages and maps, 1 GB (€5.50 (about £4.70)) is the cheapest option.
A week in Agadir for two, with a tablet on hotspot
Sharing a connection uses data faster: expect something like 6 to 7 GB over the week. A 10 GB plan (€29.00 (about £24.70)) covers it, and unlimited for 7 days (€31.50 (about £26.80)) costs only €2.50 more if you would rather not count.
A month working remotely
Thirty days at heavy use can pass 20 GB. The largest plan in our list is 20 GB for 30 days (€38.50 (about £32.70)), and you can top up in the Airalo app. If you will depend on the connection all month, it is worth comparing a local Moroccan SIM too.
Ways to pay less
- Right-size the plan. Over-buying is the commonest way to waste money.
- Use a code if you are new to Airalo. See the 15% new-customer code.
- Use Wi‑Fi for big downloads and keep the eSIM for maps and messages.
- Install before you fly: step-by-step guide.
Frequently asked questions
Can I top up if I run out of data?
Yes. You can usually top up the same plan in a few taps in the Airalo app, without reinstalling anything.
What if I pick a plan that is too small?
Top up in the app. You can also choose the next size up to start with if you are unsure, since bigger plans cost less per gigabyte.
Is unlimited really unlimited?
Check the fair-use terms before you buy. Some unlimited plans slow down after heavy use, and hotspot rules vary.
Which plan is best for a week in Morocco?
For most people a 5 GB, 7-day plan. Light users can drop to 3 GB, and heavy users should look at 10 GB or unlimited.
Are these prices in pounds?
No. Plans are priced in euros and Airalo charges in euros at checkout. Sterling figures on this site are approximate.
