Casablanca airport (CMN): the airport train, taxis and getting online
Casablanca is the one major Moroccan airport with a railway station under the terminal. Here is how the train works, what it costs, when it stops, and how to get online before you reach the platform.
The short answer
Casablanca's Mohammed V airport (CMN) is about 30 km from the city, and unlike Agadir or Marrakech it has a railway station under Terminal 1. According to the airport authority, ONDA, direct trains run to Casa-Voyageurs and Casa-Port, the trip to Casa-Voyageurs takes around 30 minutes, and a ticket costs 50 MAD in second class (about €4.70) or 70 MAD in first.
For your phone, do what works everywhere in Morocco: install an eSIM at home and switch it on after landing, so your maps, timetable and ticket are online before you reach the platform.
Your first hour at CMN
- Before you fly
Install your eSIM on Wi-Fi
Do it at home or at your departure airport, not at the gate. Our step-by-step install guide covers iPhone and Android. Download an offline map of Casablanca and screenshot your hotel's address.
- Wheels down
Switch flight mode off
Wait a minute for your phone to find a Moroccan network, then message your hotel or host with your arrival time.
- Passport control and baggage
Use the queue
Immigration queues depend on how many flights have landed together. Check your train time while you wait, and have a little cash for the taxi or small purchases.
- Arrivals
Follow the signs to the ONCF station
ONDA says the station is in the basement of Terminal 1, with direct access to the airport concourse. If you are not sure where it is, ask at the information desk or check the signs for "Gare ONCF".
- On the platform
Pick the right station
Casa-Voyageurs is the main station for onward trains. Casa-Port is closer to the waterfront. Ask your hotel which one is nearer to you before you travel.
The airport train
The figures below come from ONDA's own page on getting to and from the airport by train. Timetables and fares can change, so check ONCF before you travel.
| Detail | What ONDA says |
|---|---|
| Where | Station in the basement of Terminal 1, direct access to the concourse |
| Direct to | Bouskoura, Ennassim, Facultés, L'Oasis, Casa-Voyageurs and Casa-Port |
| Hours | Trains from the airport generally run from 06:50 to 22:50 |
| Journey to Casa-Voyageurs | Around 30 minutes (some guides quote up to 45, so allow extra) |
| Fare, second class | 50 MAD (about €4.70, roughly £4) |
| Fare, first class | 70 MAD (about €6.60, roughly £5.60) |
| Tickets | Online on the ONCF website, or at the station |

What about a taxi?
The train is the only airport-to-city fare we found published by an official body. Taxi prices are a different story: traveller guides report anything from roughly 250 to 400 MAD (about £20 to £32) for central Casablanca, which is a wide range. If you take a taxi, agree the price before your bags go in the boot, and ask whether it is for the whole car.
Heading beyond Casablanca
Casa-Voyageurs is the main intercity hub. From there, regular ONCF trains run to Marrakech (guides put the journey at about three hours), Rabat, Fès and elsewhere, and the Al Boraq high-speed line serves Rabat and Tangier. The airport train does not run to Marrakech directly, so plan a change at Casa-Voyageurs.

Getting online
An eSIM installed before you fly means you can check the live timetable and buy a ticket online without hunting for Wi-Fi. A data-only eSIM does not give you a Moroccan phone number, so keep your UK SIM for texts and switch data roaming off on it.
You can also buy a local SIM in Morocco. We have not been able to confirm current SIM kiosk locations and opening hours at CMN, so do not count on one if you land late. If you are unsure which route suits you, read SIM card vs eSIM and the plan guide.
Four mistakes to avoid
- Assuming the train runs all night. Trains from the airport generally stop around 22:50, so a late landing may mean a taxi.
- Taking the first taxi quote. Compare it with the train fare, and agree the price first.
- Picking the wrong station. Casa-Voyageurs and Casa-Port are different stops. Check which one suits your hotel.
- Arriving with no offline map. A dead signal and an unfamiliar street are a poor combination.
