Surf trips are a strange mix: hours offline in the water, then a burst of uploads, forecasts and group chats. Here is a realistic data budget for a week on the Taghazout coast.
The surf-week data budget
These are rules of thumb, not lab measurements, but they are close enough to plan with.

Many surf camps and guesthouses have Wi‑Fi, but speed and reliability vary, especially when everyone uploads at once in the evening. Treat it as a bonus for big uploads, and keep your eSIM for maps, forecasts, messages and everything on the move.

- Turn off automatic photo and video upload over mobile data.

- Update apps and your phone before you leave the UK.
- Use low-data settings for calls in your messaging app.

Getting from Agadir airport to Taghazout
Taghazout is about 40 km from the airport, roughly 45 to 60 minutes by road. Recent traveller reports suggest a grand taxi costs around 250 to 350 MAD for the whole car, more late at night, so agree the fare first.
